The Tragedy Project
The Tragedy Project we had to make either a graphic novel, a movie, or a play to show how bad a certain social is. My partner and I chose the Death Penalty, a cruel punishment for committing a crime.
Project Reflection
For my Greek Tragedy project, I am most proud of all the drawings I did for the graphic novel. We had almost 40 drawings and I drew almost all of them. I am proud of these drawing because they all look pretty good if I do say so myself, and they all present what is going on like a real graphic novel. They also looked like the characters my partner and I imagined them to be, so I am really glad I could make that happen. I really enjoy drawing and when my partner and I decided to do a graphic novel I was really excited, so I put a lot of effort into making these drawings look as good as I could make them.
If I had to give advice to a student next year it would be to work hard every day and be organized. In this project my partner and I worked hard but we messed around a little bit. We had to look up a lot of examples of what to draw but while searching these images we got distracted. I also could have been more organized because we didn't finish the project until the night before the exhibition. If I would have finished all the drawings and been more organized we would have finished the project earlier and have been more prepared.
Working with Kira was really good because she had a lot of great ideas and helped me stay on track. Even though I drew all the drawings she helped me refine them and put them into the graphic novel. She also published the graphic novel and played a huge part in writing the script. We are both into the same stuff and it really helped us write the script and turn it into beautiful work. I would say she did more work in this project than me and I feel that we did really well working together as a team. I look forward to working again with her in the future.
The most challenging task for me was scanning the images into the computer, because I had to scan each image individually. After scanning all the images we had into the computer I realized my drawing was to light so I had to go over all the drawings and make them darker, then rescan them into the computer. The actual scanning was the most difficult because the scanner I have at my house isn't very productive and it took a while to scan. It took me almost an hour to scan all the images and I still had to get them into the document. Thankfully kira helped out with that so it helped me with that challenge.
